Story of the Inventor:William and John were from Nashville, Tennessee. Thomas Patton and Joseph Delarose Lasaux helped invent the electric cotton candy maker. They created the very first electric cotton candy machine to spin and melt sugars through very small holes. William Marrison and John Wharton where given a patent for the cotton candy maker in 1899. Meanwhile, a Louisiana dentist, Lascaux, also invented cotton candy at his dentist office, but was not given a patent.
Story of the Invention:Cotton candy was invented in 1897. First called fairy floss, in the United Kingdom it is called Candy Floss. Cotton candy is formed by spinning sugar. It contains mostly air. A cotton candy cone is usually slitly bigger than an adult's head.
Story of the Impact of the Invention: Now cotton candy is very popular and is sold at every carnival. Cotton candy is popular to children.
