Story of the Inventor:

Ruth Graves Wakefield was born June 17,1903. She went to school at Framingham State Normal School Department of Household Arts in 1924. She was a doctor and lectured about foods. Ruth married Kenneth Wakefield. In 1930, Ruth and her husband bought a Cape Cod style Tollhouse in Massachusetts. They turned the toll house into the Toll House inn. Ruth died on January 10, 1977.

 

 

 

Story of the Invention:

One of Wakefield's favorite cookie recipes were Butter Drop Do cookies. While she was making the cookies one day, she ran out of bakers chocolate. Andrew Nestle had given Ruth semi-sweet chocolate so she cut the chocolate into little bits and put them into the dough. She expected the chocolate to melt while they were baking in the oven, but the chocolate did not melt. The cookie kept the same shape but softed cookie. The cookie became very popular with the guests. Wakefield and Nestle decided that they would print Tollhouse Cookie on the package but that also included Ruth getting all the chocolate she wanted.

The chocolate chip cookie is a delicious treat for everyone to enjoy. It bring happieness to the world. People love the goodness of the chocolate chip cookie.

 

 

Story of the Future of the Invention:

We think that chocolate cookie cookies should be made bigger. They should make low-fat cookie but make them taste the exact same. They should also have cookies for people who are diabetic.
