Story of the Inventor: Marion's first breakthrough was to design a new waterproof diaper. She was born in 1917, in Fort Wayne, IN. Donavon died November 4, 1998. Marion Donavon was an inventor, American mother, and an inventor. When she did not suceed at selling her diapers to established manufactuers, she started her own company wich she later sold.

 

 

Story of the Invention: Marion named her invention the "Boater." It was first avalible in 1959, made of nylon parachute cloth. Instead of saftey pins it had metal plastic snaps. She later desighed a new sturdy paper that worked just as well. She sold her company for $1 million.

 

 

 

 

Story of the Impact of the Invention: The disposible diaper is good because you don't have to wash it. It is bad because you have to buy new diapers. Also, it is bad for the environment.

 

 

 

Story of the Future of the Invention: We think someone should make an environment-friendly diaper. Someone should invent a diaper that doesn't use up trees.
